The lesson for today: use good wood.
The other day, I went to Home Depot and bought some materials for my new brooding box. For two days, I have looked forward to putting it together. Tonight, when I went to nail the plywood boards together with the air gun, the wood was splitting pretty badly, and trying to aim the nail into plywood that is 1/4 ” thick is harder than it sounds. Sparks were flying (literally), nails were flying across the patio and into the yard, splinters were spraying from the wood. No good, no good. If only I had gotten wood about twice as thick, I’d be halfway done with the new brooding box.
Tomorrow I’ll have another go at that brooding box.
Instead, tonight I made cookies. Cookies with eggs from Georgina Henrietta. I am somewhat mollified.
