Today felt like spring for the first time, and I noticed new buds and leaves on my orange tree. Actually, new buds are popping up everywhere… the rose bush, the Confederate Jasmine, the sweet olive, the Carolina jessamine, wisteria, Lady Banks rose vine, satsuma, fig tree… the azaleas are just about exploding with blooms, and so is the Japanese magnolia. Everything is blossoming and blooming, and making me itch to plant things.
The hens are also happy about spring time. Makes me think of that song from Seven Bridges for Seven Brothers, “All the henfolk are hatchin’ while their menfolk are scratchin’ to ensure the survival of each brand new arrival.” Hmm maybe I need to start thinking about getting some chicks.
